Puss in Boots is the most famous kitten in heels. He famously wears big tall leather boots in most adaptations of the story. There are many variations of Puss in Boots dating back as early as 1500 but he is most often seen wearing boots very like these tall black leather ones from 1700. This was a pre-french revolution/ English civil war affected time when men wore heels but lavish clothes were often controversial. In many versions of Puss in Boots he is in disgusies, plays pranks and tries to achieve great wealth. Perhaps this even refers to (another famous fancy boot wearer) King Charles the First's supposed disguises during his escape attempts. It is speculation

but it cannot be denied that in this lasting story from 500 years ago, these little boots play a crucial part!
