Burial Shoes

In the Victorian times, people were fascinated with the afterlife. They were very scared of being buried alive and so they had little bells fitted to coffins so that in the event of being accidentally buried, they would be able to ring to the surface for help! You could even buy burial shoes like these ones in the Victorian times. They were laced up at the back and even had heels!
